Privacy Policy — Kitchen Sync

Overview

Kitchen Sync is a recipe management app focused on privacy. The app follows a local‑first design: your recipes, notes, plans and images are stored on your device by default. We do not operate any backend that receives, tracks, or sells your personal data.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, share or sell personal data to our servers.

The app may process the following data locally on your device to provide core features:

• Recipes, tags, collections, meal plans, shopping lists and pantry inventory (stored locally using SQLite/Hive).
• Imported content from web links or images. OCR text recognition is performed on device using Google ML Kit.
• Basic settings (theme, unit preferences, language).

Permissions

• Camera / Photos: to import recipes from images and scan text (OCR). Images are kept locally unless you export or share.
• Storage: to read/write recipe data and cached images locally.
• Notifications (optional): for timers or reminders you enable.

No permission is used for purposes other than providing the corresponding feature.

Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties. When you choose to export or share a recipe, the content you select will be shared via the target app or channel you choose.

Data Retention & Deletion

All user data is stored on your device and remains until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes the locally stored data.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use platform‑provided storage and follow best practices to minimize data exposure. Because we do not run cloud servers for this app, there is no remote profile of your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
